Bring your entire family out for a morning of fun during the Family Fitness Fun Day 2008 on Saturday, May 17 at the J.W. Denver Williams Park in Wilmington, Ohio. The event will take place from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and will host an array of workshops and demonstrations to promote family fitness and living a healthier lifestyle.
The day kicks off with a family-friendly obstacle course starting at 9 a.m. There will be a nature hike with a scavenger hunt for the children at the Nature Preserve starting at 10 a.m. A bike ride, sponsored by the Wilmington Bicycle Club, will start at 11 a.m. and proceed across the bike trails of Wilmington, returning back to the park.
Vendor booths will be available with ideas and products that lend to a healthier lifestyle. Healthy food will be offered at the food booth with fruit wraps, granola, nuts, fruit cups, water and juice drinks.
“I think this will be a great chance for the families in the community to get active together and learn what the parks have to offer”, says Tammy McKay, president of the Friends of the Wilmington Parks. “A healthy lifestyle for the entire family is so important and our goal is help this city achieve that.”
