Our solution: Clinton County is home to two wonderful tea rooms. They are Lucy & Ethel's Country Tea House and Hannaford House Tea Room, both located in Wilmington.
"People are getting tired of the fast-food drive-in, hectic pace of life we all have now. By taking time for tea you almost start to relax just thinking about it and your blood pressure drops a notch," said Jan Bonn, a customer at Hannaford House in Wilmington, Ohio. "My daughter and I both have very busy lives, but we treasure the times we do have together. An afternoon tea is the perfect excuse to catch up and linger over our lunch together."
A drive to Lucy & Ethel's Country Tea House, located on 1073 Old State Road in Wilmington, is relaxing in itself, but add in Bobbie Romohr's truly pampering experience, and it might be said that you've found paradise.
Romohr has paid special attention to every detail in her home and lavishes her guests with an afternoon they will never forget. The experience includes homemade soups with items from Bobbie's own garden, delicious baked goods and the most original presentations. Everything is almost too pretty to eat.

The Hannaford House Tea Room is located at 200 E. Locust Street in Wilmington. The owner, Tracy Gerhardt, welcomes all that come through the door of this beautifully restored Victorian home, offering wonderful goodies and a huge selection of every tea imaginable.
Rooms are decorated with antiques, time period women's hats and cozy tables for two to forty guests. Enjoy fresh baked scones and many different selections of soups, sandwiches and desserts. The setting is very relaxed and not in the least bit "stuffy," taking you back to a different time when life was a little slower. Stop in and linger over lunch, then visit the many stores downtown Wilmington has to offer. Tea houses aren't just for women, men enjoy the pampering too!
